Why this site exists

I'm Sonit. I trade futures, options and commodities for my own account, out of Mumbai.

Before that I worked as a commercial diver — years of it, underwater, for a living. It reads oddly next to "trader," but the two jobs rhyme more than you'd think: long stretches of preparation, short stretches where the decision actually matters, and very little tolerance for improvising once something has already gone wrong.

This site is the three things I pay attention to when I'm not working — money, food, and the road.

On the finance side, a plain warning: nothing here is advice and nothing here is a recommendation. I don't manage anyone's money and I'm not selling a system. It's the reasoning written down while it was still uncertain, which is the only time writing it down is worth anything.

Food is simpler — what was actually on the table, and whether it was worth going back for. Travel is mostly by motorcycle, mostly the long way round, and rarely planned much past the first day.
